Solved Can't get my PC to connect to my monitor.

    I think you're right, I was thinking the integrated GPU was on the CPU but I think it was still on the motherboard in the first generation and didn't move until the second generation.

    Ok I'm going tonight to get the cord/adapter. Would you reccomend a VGI-I cable with a adapter for DVI-D, or vise versa. ( The PC is DVI-I and the computer is DVI-D)

    far too complicated... essentially this is all you need to know:

    DVI-I (which is in your graphics card) supports both Analog and Digital signals - meaning it can be compatible with anything.

    You can get any combination you want and it will work.
    VGA -> DVI-I
    VGA -> DVI-D
    DVI-D -> DVI-I

    I would opt for a cord, extra reach is always helpful, you can always cable tie it out the way if you don't want it.
