Can't get rid of automatic pop up ads

    I have cleaned my hard drive with every recommended program and I cannot get rid of these microsoft internet explorer pop ups.

    I have used Hijack and the folowing registry log was created. Would you review and let me know if I should remove one of these to solve my problem?

    sounds to me that you either have a virus (trojan) or you have some javascript bug. are you online when this happens? if so then just stay away form those site :p you can try to install pow www.analogx.com and it will kill those popups.

    what site does it come from?

    if you are not on the internet when this happens then try to either disconect your modem or unplug you cable/dsl modem and see if it tries to access it. if so you may see an error come up.

    I have been using the Google toolbar for a couple of days now and I love it!

    So far it has blocked 63 popups (in fact, I haven't seen a popup since I started using it!)

    It's un-obtrusive (SP?) and FREE!
    Give it a try

    Or use Mozilla...it has a pop-up blocker built into it, and tabs are awesome :)

    are you sure it is a IE popup?

    because windows 2k/xp has a messenger service that pops up up ads and this can be turned off.
