I have Check 86 from Cox , Bazooka and McAfee but still get adware popups. I deleted a ton of stuff with Bazooka instructions and must have also deleted some appearantly needed files. I think I may have to re-setup windows but don't want to lose all the stuff on the drive. anyway, I saw a similar problem from a guy named GRIM and followed the directions given to him by firman1 and am hoping someone can tell me what I can have Hijack "fix" to permanently get rid of "winhost32.exe" and others.

Click on the link below to get lsp-fix.
Run that to fix your internet connection.

    http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Run the program. Check the box that says "I know what I'm doing". Click "Finish"

    Run HJT again and check:

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://pop.popuptoast.com/9901/search/search.html
    R3 - URLSearchHook: IncrediFindBHO Class - {5D60FF48-95BE-4956-B4C6-6BB168A70310} - C:\PROGRA~1\INCRED~1\BHO\INCFIN~1.DLL (file missing)

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

When you run LSPFix you need to Launch the application, and click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox.

Check all instances of inetadpt.dll (and nothing else) , and move them to the "Remove" pane.
    Then click Finish.

Now start your computer in Safe Mode and delete:

    The C:\windows\system\inetadpt.dll file

OK, I ran the LSP program, removed inetadpt, could not get to safemode (Help said to hold control key after clicking restart, this does not work and I don't remembe how I got to safe mode another time) so I just deleted the inetadpt.dll file from c:win/sys. I ran HJT again and fixed (deleted) the 5 items suggested. I also deleted the winhost32.exe AGAIN from the c:win/Temp and c:win/sys. I will now wait and pray to the digital goddess that this will take care of the problem. And I thank all of you very much for your input.
After previoulsy using Bazooka (keypher) to remove a TON of adware, when I restart windows it comes up in DOS that it is unable to find---------about 5 lines of blank space--------from----------about 10 lines of blank space and that windows may not work properly and if it does not I should run setup. press any key to continue and starts up OK I guess. But I feel I should fix this problem before it escalates.
I have only ran setup once before and lost all my files. I would not mind a clean version of Windows but wish to retain all updates, configurations etc. can Windows be just repaired without reinstalling? and how can I get the display to show me what file(s) are missing or damaged instead of the black empty spaces so I will know what files to replace/repair?
    Thanks again, Candy
