Hey you guys. Well, I've had my computer for a good month or so. It's a very good computer and it should run every game nearly free-lag. I had my suspicious that my computer was infected with viruses, therefore I re-formated my computer. It turned out I didn't. Ever since that reformat I can't install any .MSI installations, and sometimes normal .exe installations. I tried installing Steam which worked good before the re-formate, but now after the re-formate it says: This patch package Could not be opened.
Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package.
I got another problem aswell. Whenever I try to run the Windows Installer to repatch my .MSI installer it says that my computer lacks ram for that specific execution. I got six gigabyte of ram, what's wrong?

I've tried to search on Google, and I've tried all the Microsoft ways but they haven't been any help.

    Thanks in advance, BlueMajor.

try running the msi installation with the logging option on:

    example: msiexec /i C:\users\test\desktop\steaminstall.msi /l* C:\steam.log

/i - full path the msi file
/l* - logs all information to the specified logfile

After the install error pops up and installer crashes open the log file (in the example C:\steam.log) in wordpad. Find any line containing the text "error" and post the complete error line on this forum.
