I need to install my sound driver. I've been getting help from someone, and this was the last instruction he gave me in order to get my audio working again. To sum it up I had a virus which completely disabled my system, so I had to reinstall Wins XP, this was a custom built computer so a friend had to open it to find model numbers for motherboard. Was able to get computer working again, but no sound now. I ran all the Wins updates too. I downloaded the ASUS P4P8XSE audio driver at driverstock.com. I extracted the files, and then clicked on the install.exe and nothing happens.

I found the same driver on this site, extracted the files, then clicked on install.exe but got no response again.

Can you run any other software installer that uses an exe?

    scratch head.....

All I can suggest is to do what is called a Clean Boot, then try to install it.

Be sure to return the system to Normal Startup when done.
