Earlier, I had a virus that redirected all my search links so I posted a thread in the virus/malware section of this website. We successfully removed the virus, but the person also recommended to me that I update Adobe, since viruses could lurk in outdated programs with unenhanced security features. However, Adobe was impossible to update. So, somehow we managed to remove Adobe completely from the computer so I could just try to reinstall it. However, I don't think I was successful in completely removing it, and the next time I tried to update the program, this same message popped up:

    Error 1402.Could not open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\...\MSFS. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

Then it did some sort of roll-back action, and then this message popped up:

    Error 1402.Could not open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\...\IMAIL. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

And then it rolled back again and the setup completely failed. It does this every time I try to install or update Adobe Reader. Please help, I need Adobe!
