    Hello,
I have had the free version of ZoneAlarm for like 2 years now, and just about a week ago I downloaded the ZoneAlarm Security Suite trial. I just uninstalled it and tried to reinstall the free ZoneAlarm again. However, everytime the installer starts up, it keeps telling my True Vector Internet Monitor is running, but I look in the processes and it is not running.

It keeps telling me to use the service manager to remove it, and then restart the installer, but I checked the service manager and nothing is there for zonealarm!

Please help! How do I reinstall the free ZoneAlarm?

Yep, I tried that, doing a system restore, and booting in safe mode. Nothing works. :(

Hi - Have you tried going into "msconfig" and unchecking unchecking VSMON (I believe this is the true vector app) . . . don't know if this'll help, but maybe. I just went thru this while preparing a 98SE for "no support" . . . however, mine was easy to diable thru the old-style task manager. You may need to go into your existing ZA settings and disabling the "run at start-up" option. Good luck. Hope this helps?
