Can't Load Windows 98

    When trying to load Windows 98, I get a message saying
    "Can not load ATMSYS.DRV the file is corrupt. I can get in to safe mode only. Any sugesstions? Thanks.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I do not understand how I am supposed to fix this after reading the article. I guess I am technically challenged. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    boot up in safe mode.

    go to start/run/type sysedit, choose the system ini tab, look for the line
    SYSTEM.DRV=ATMSYS.DRV

    change to

    SYSTEM.DRV=SYSTEM.DRV

    If this line is there

    ATM.SYSTEM.DRV=SYSTEM.DRV

    rem it out

    rem ATM.SYSTEM.DRV=SYSTEM.DRV

    when your done you should only have this line

    SYSTEM.DRV=SYSTEM.DRV

    save and reboot
