    Hey guys.

My friend just gave me a call and told me that suddenly his computer is not booting up.
He has gateway.. forget which model he has.
Symptom : He turns on and gets a message saying there is a problem with booting and it needs to be fixed (he forgot exactly what it said and he left his computer at home) and the next screen is the usual "safemode" or "Last good configuration" screen and either one he chooses the windows logo appears and it restarts again.

just saying what he told me. any help ? =) thank you so much!

PS.Sorry if there was a same problem. I couldn't find a thread. If there is one you can find that would be great too. cheers

normally if there is a fault with windows it would promt you to insert the setup cd and hit repair.
but if it didnt ask you to do this you can still try this method:

insert windows xp setup cd and boot up pc

    select the option to repair

then on the repair screen chose the option to repair bootup

Gateway has a warrenty on it so he sent it back to replace his motherboard.
