on a windows computer, outlook just keeps asking for my password over and over. I know that the password is the correct one but it just doesn't seem to accept it.

If I were going to try to help with this (assuming that your reason for posting was wanting help rather than just wanting somebody to sympathize) I'd at least want to know whether "outlook" means the Outlook Office Application or using the outlook.com gui in a browser. And the mail service. And whether you have been very careful to make sure you've given the correct account name.

Some email providers now require a secure mail key when using outlook to access email. I had this problem a while ago and finally figured it out. If your actual email provider is att/yahoo, then you will need to create a secure key rather than a password.
