I just brought home a new computer with Windows XP Professional. I was having to logon using a username and password from another gal at work. I found in the computer where you change the computer from a work group on a domain to a home computer. I rebooted and now the username and password don't work and I can't get into Windows XP. Help! My computer is now useless!

Windows is now trying to log you into the domain by default. Unless you added the same username/password to the domain controller, it won't recognize that user.

When you're at the login screen (I assume the "friendly" one with the big buttons), hit Ctrl-Alt-Del twice and you should get the "classic" login prompt. Where the domain is listed, click it and select the local computer name instead, then try that user again.

If you added the machine to a domain controller though, you should be able to use your domain account to log into the machine.
