I am running office xp suite on windows xp home.

I have a file that refuses to open correctly. It was created in word. I try to open it, it says it needs a converter. I downloaded the office xp converter and installed it. Now the file opens, but it's all gibberish. I don't get it.

I know the original file is good; i used the document for a year. Can anyone inspect this file, convert it for me, anything? I really need it. I notice I can't attach a word file...is there any way around this? Or can someone respond and I will reply with the file? I would really appreciate it.

Try zipping the file, a zip file is permitted.
