My computer is running a Vista Home Premium 64-bit system. Today, all of a sudden about 95% of the icons on the desktop disappeared. Then while the "HP Hardware Diagnostic Program" was running it appeared to stall and lock up my computer while had Outlook 7 running. I tried control-alt-delete several times, but the system was really locked. I had to push to power button to restart the system. When I restarted Outlook, I couldn't open my outlook personal folders. When I try, I get error messages. One says that the .pst file is already in use an the other says that there is something wrong with the .pst file and to try to use scanpst.exe which I did but no luck. I would like to get the icons back on the desktop and I really would like to have my personal folders back in Outlook. Thanks in advance to any and all help with this.
