Hi, I was having trouble with my laptop, so I started from scratch and reloaded the W2K Operating System, and then I downloaded SP4 successfully. Now when I go to Windows Update, the website says its checking my computer for updates, but this goes on for hours. The computer is sending alot of information and receiving very little. I now notice that when I connect to my ISP (dial up), the computer immediately starts sending, even though I haven't open Internet Explorer. When I do open the browser, any website I try to open takes forever because the computer is sending. Any help would be great!:( :(

Try downloading a few of the prerequisite updates manually, then give the automatic updates another try.
