I have an inspiron 3800 Dell with dvd drive, but when I try to play a dvd it says "Playback failed due to a problem with the video subsystem. Lowering your screen resolution or color depth may fix the problem" I've lowered both but it still dose't work. I rebuilt my computer 2 times and before the last rebuild, it was working. Oh and I'm running windows XP pro sp2.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling your DVD playback software. Speaking of which... What program are you using when you get this error?
