Can't post on Facebook timelines on PC/MAC, ok on mob/Ipad

If I try to post on ANY friends' Facebook timelines on PC or MAC, there is no option offered.
It happens on this Windows 10 desktop and also my Macbook Pro.
The problem does NOT occur on my Android phone or my Ipad.

I conclude from this:

it is not malware​

it is not restricted to device manufacturer​

I do know it is not due to being blocked
Browser choice makes no difference.

I am mystified!!
