I'm in a quandry here and can't figure out how to get out. I was reinstalling my HP scanner software when a stop error screen came up during reboot. I tried restarting and I keep coming back to the same screen. I tried booting from my Norton Antivirus Emergency Boot Disk and keep getting stuck at the same screen. I tried going into safe mode with command prompt and still come to the same screen. I checked the connections on the back of the computer and have unplugged the scanner. Still no luck.

Here's what the screen says:
_______________________________________________________

***STOP: 0x0000007b (0xEB81B84C, 0xCOOOOOOE, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Refer to your Getting Started manual for more information on troubleshooting errors.

Where do I go from here?

There is no one solution to this problem. Suggest doing an advanced search on the forum using "inaccessible boot device"
