    Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite referenced in this link:

    https://www.cnet.com/products/toshiba-satellite-p505-s8980/specs/

I've been attempting to reset the laptop to factory settings and thus restore Windows 7 to the laptop (was using Windows 10).

Each time I attempt to reset, the process errors out. I can supply pictures of the screen if necessary. When powering on the laptop, the OS will not load so the computer never full starts.

I have a Windows 7 restore disc, but I've been unable to find an option on there that will boot from the disc. Any ideas on what I can do? Many thanks.

Usually when you install a different OS the special boot to the Recovery partition is lost. So, you'll likely need your set of Recovery DVDs and boot to the first one in the set.

According to its marketing specs, it originally came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
