    Hi,

Got a win xp pc and a win7 laptop sharing a wireless connection.

I've already have set up a printer on xp box to be shareable win laptop - that seems to work fine.

But, i've set some folders on the XP box to be shareableand i cant 'see' them on the win 7 laptop ... what do i need to do to let the laptop access these folders?

    cheers.

Can the laptop "see" the XP machine in Network & Sharing Centre>Network - not Homegroup but a little further down the screen? When you shared the Printer, did you run XP's Network Setup Wizard? If you had, that would have set the Firewall accordingly but possibly, doing the printer separately has left the Firewall blocking File Sharing.

cant see that the laptop can "see" the xp box.

    I didn't run XP's Network Setup Wizard (I don't think!)

Do I need to do something with the firewall on the laptop then?

    Cheers.

I think the laptop with W7 is probably OK but the XP system's Firewall might be blocking file sharing.

I'm not sufficiently familiar with ZA to know the intricacies of its settings. I could suggest turning it off for not much more than 5.8 seconds to experiment. :D
