I run win2k with IIS and want to check my PHP scripts on IIS before I upload them to my domain host.

But I can't check the email function because SMTP won't start.

The event log shows that firstly ASCTRM doesn't start because it 'can't find file..'. What file?

Then one after the other MSFTP, SMTP and W3SVC don't start because '...can't register Administration Tool Discovery information...' , whatever that is.

Note that IIS IS working okay, in fact, whether I am connected with the internet or not I can still contact my local site on localhost and run all perl and PHP scripts.

Something wrong with my system. Any ideas?
