cant uninstal windows media player in windows 7

    hi,
    in my laptop i tried to uninstall windows media player but i didn't find any uninstal option & tried to delete from program files to but i got msg like this (you require permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this folder)
    plz help

    Can't seem to pull up techie-buzz right now so I don't know what they advise, but I didn't see any problems after removing it from my server. That was in XP though. It's a Windows component so it won't show up in the 'Uninstall a program' list but there's an option to add/remove Windows components on the same screen. You should find it there. One warning is that on that screen you're re-configuring 'all' of Windows, not selecting the individual components you want to configure. I made that mistake, once, and ended up uninstalling a bunch of components I wanted to keep-and keeping the component I wanted to remove. So clear the checkboxes for components you want to remove & leave the others alone.
