I have windows 2000 pro. In the control panel there's a prog called Tweakui ,with the icon. however it's not in the add remove prog. I don't know how it got there (maybe with some other prog I download?) but I want to get rid of it. I saw it in system 32 (a dll). Can I just delete that, or what should I do? I'm a newbi to this, and would much appreciate your help, Thankyou

I have no idea where it came from- I just want to get rid of it.

It's a very popular MS "tweaking" program, and I recommend it.

If you doubleclick the Control Panel icon, is the program launched at all?

If you're determined to get rid of it (WHY?) , and you can't find an uninstaller, do a Find Files for Tweakui

You will find three or more of the following:

Tweakui.cpl
Tweakui.inf
Tweakui.hlp
Tweakui.cnt
Tweakui.gid
Tweakui.fts

Delete all of them. That will completely remove TweakUI, as nothing's written to the Registry during install.

Yeah, but it is of no importance.

Tweakui.cnt is just a by-product created when you run the Tweakui Help file, and the mention of it somewwhere in the Registry doesn't exactly contribute to "registry bloat".
