cant use the key w while using key left shift

    I have been having this issue with all the games where sprinting/crouching was enabled and it wouldnt allow me to do so, when i try to run straight using the left shift key it just stops my character but if i try to run sideways or backwards, it allows me to run. Can someone help me with this issue?

    I assume both buttons function normally on their own.

    What brand and model of keyboard?

    Yeah, both buttons function normally alone but im not using a desktop pc, im using an Asus laptop

    Can you try a Usb keyboard connected to the laptop ? If yes let us know if the W and left Shift keys work ok with that.

    Ok, the problem is the actual laptop keyboard then. You can check the 2 keys to see if if there is any physical damage by carefully levering the keytops off, I would use something made of plastic or wood for this, a metal tool might damage the keytop. The video and text at the link below should help by showing you how the keys are put together :-

    If the keys look ok you may have to replace the whole top panel as shown in this video :-



    I would check Ebay for replacement keys or top panel.
