I recently installed a VisionTek Radeon HD 3850, and have to bypass the WHQL testing in order to run it in XP. This is all well and good and I can operate with the Catalyst 8.4 driver suite with no problems. However, if I try to update my drivers I get an error message that says something along the lines of: "Severe. Setup cannot locate a driver for this hardware or operating system. Setup will now exit". I'm thinking that in order for this latest driver to work I have to upgrade to Vista? The 3850 is a DX10 card, but according to the release notes for the 8.9 drivers they should work in XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
