The last version that I was aware of is 1.22.142, or else I wouldn't have mentioned the update.

My exe. file for 123.160 was downloaded on 31st. August, so it's been around for at least three weeks.

These things are easily missed if programs don't do auto updating or if, like me, you don't like using auto updaters, even if they are on offer.

I don't use it myself because I really don't like it. That's probably why I missed any update that was released 3 weeks ago. I'm usually pretty good at catching updates within a day or two to programs that I use.

"f": What program, if any, do you use instead of "CCleaner?"

"f": Thanks for the reply. I use "EC", too, along with "CCleaner." Is there a redundancy?

    Sure.

But even if you run 3, 4, 5 or more registry cleaners.....you will still find stuff that one misses and another gets. What is important is to watch what is found and not just blindly tell the program(s) to delete. Of course if something does go wrong, then you can use the backup to restore things. :)

Whichever registry cleaner(s) that you use, none of them are 100% perfect, so take the time to read the list that's brought up and not blindly delete all of them.

Many thanks for the comments. I always create a "Restore Point" before doing any "cleaning." It is the only safeguard I have, besides a weekly full system backup to an external HDD, since I really do not have the knowledge to judge 'good' from 'bad' in the listings.
