I have an old AMD K6 computer. I just tried to install a cd burner in it but had no luck. I have installed cd burners before, always attaching them to the same cable that is attached to the back of the regular cd-rom. This computer, however doesn't have a double hook-up on the cable attached to the cd-rom. So I attached the burner to another cable with two hook-ups with one already in use by the floppy drive. It failed to detect or install the burner. Correct me if I am wrong, but I assume that the floppy drive cable is not the same cable as the one attached to the cd-rom. Can I just go to Best Buy or somewhere and just get a cd-rom cable with two attachments? Thanks for any help.

Your CD Burner should have come with one, but yes you should be able to get one at B/B.
Since you are running a AMD K6 make sure your sys. meets min. requirements for your burner.
