I got a CD Burner for Christmas (yay! :)) and I have a question about the minimum requirements of it.

    hp cd-writer cd16mi
    minimum requirements:
Pentium II 350 MHz; 64 MB RAM
Windows NT, 98, Me, 2000 pro, XP

    Here is what I have:
    Pentium I 120 MHz; 48 MB RAM
    Windows 95

So what are the chances that this will actually work? I haven't installed it yet, I need to know wether or not I'll need an upgrade.

    dunno

The minimum requirements are probably written to burn at full rated speed.

It will probably burn but it's going to be dog slow

I would assume it would work with win95. But that has software I have never used. I am not sure if the burn proof software consumes more resources or requirements than others.

    My two cents anyways.

Windows 95 is a totally unsupported operating system. I seriously doubt the drive will work.

Max19 hit it right on the nose. The manufacturer probably did not make a driver for the Windows 95 OS and the driver also needed the capacity of that 64mb of ram for it to work.
