CD drive not recognized by bios

    The title says it all. Why is this. (Windows XP)

    Yes but the title doesn't say enough. You need to provide lots more info like:
    New problem or never recognized?
    Any additional history on the problem that you would like to provide?

    Ah you got me with a double post. Maybe one of the moderators can merge things. In your earlier post it looked like you were having hard drive booting problems is that fixed? And just to clarify if you go into BIOS (not windows) your CD drive is not listed there?

    How is the drive hooked up. Is it by itself on a cable? Have you checked all the connections to the drive and the MB?

    Its in the computer. I'm positive its plugged in.
