Hello. I have a HP Pavilion dv9220us Notebook pc and it appears that the CD drive has disappeared and is missing. If you look at the device manager, it reads that the following device is in "error 10": HL DT ST DVDRAM GSA-4084N ATA DEVICE. Is there a way to get my dvd drive back without re-installing Vista again?

    Thanks,
    Lisa

Hello. I have a HP Pavilion dv6342ea Notebook pc and it appears that the DVD drive has disappeared and is missing. From the divice manager properties, it gives the message: This device cannot start (code 10): HL DT ST DVDRAM GSA-4084N ATA DEVICE. I changed the drive with the same type from another laptop and it still did not work and it tell me that the right and up to date driver is installed already. How cannot get my device back?

    Pls help,

    Dia

Have you by any chance installed itunes? This is known to initiate this error in some cases. Failing that, go with jujus link :)
