Cd drives error

Win Xp Pro
Pentium 4 2.4
256 Ram
Sony CDRW and 16 XDVD

Installed nero and had the folloing problem occour

When computer rebooted Cd drives had dissapered report following error

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"

have tried uninstalling reinstalling driver and drivers and rebooting

any help would be appretiated

If you downloaded the Nero software, perhaps you got it from a bogus website or you may have corrupted version. My Nero came on a CD and I've never had a problem. You may have some malicious software that redirects you to bogus sites.

I know you didn't remove Easy CD but this is worth a try

Also make sure that you have the latest version of Nero.

Actually, you're right on target here norton850, here's a more generic version of the KB article, but it's the same solution. This happens for a variety of reasons, not just EZ-Creator. Q3320553 - Missing CD Drives Win-XP
