cd/dvd drive died

    My laptop lenovo computers cd/dvd drive died. It's a MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ8HC [Optical drive] . My question is will any manufactures drive work if is a Model UJ8HC

    You can usually use any laptop type Optical drive with the same connector (Sata or Ide), the only other thing to consider is whether the plastic bezel cover will fit.

    To be sure post the exact model details for your laptop please.

    HERE is the support site that's assigned to your Lenovo IdeaPad 300-15ISK laptop.

    Its disc drive is a SATA model and should have these dimensions:
    9.5mm x 128mm x 129mm

    Older optical drives are 12.5mm thick so make sure you get a 9.5mm one.

    An advantage with that one is your bezel should fit it perfectly.

    It seems that drive is made by Panasonic and a search for Panasonic UJ8HC or even just UJ8HC should find some on Ebay.
