I come to you after much google searching. :S Our CD/DVD drive hasn't worked for at least a year... How do we function you ask?? Good question..

Anyway, it will not open by pushing the button and I know it's a serious problem because there is no light to indicate there is any sort of connection with the drive.

When I search in my device manager, my Disk Drives = WDC WD800JD 75MSA3

What should my first course of action be? I have tried to update the driver, but it seems to only search for a disc... ironic. lol

I have a lot of experience with building websites, etc, but the actual configuration of computers is a huge weak spot. I'm willing to do it myself though. Please point me in the right direction... most of what I have found hasn't worked, or I don't understand how to do it.

    Thank you in advance,

Sounds to me like there is no power to the drive.

Open up the side panel of the computer and make sure the cables are:

    1. Connected.
    2. Snug and secure.
