CD/DVD drives not working

    The power is fine. I can't boot into Linux (as I don't have a CD drive and I'm on my backup HDD as it is) but it's not listed in my BIOS either.

    I've tried different cables to and from the mainboard to the drives. No luck.

    Is this most likely my drives are knackered (seems unlikely both would mess up) or is there something wrong with the mainboard socket?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Try one drive at a time observing the proper jumper settings.

    Already gave that a bash to no avail.
