    I am having issues having my CD/DVD drive being recognized.

    I am running:
    Compaq Presario V3617LA Laptop with:

    Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version
    OS Version: Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Basic, Service Pack 2, 32 bit
    Processor: Mobile AMD Sempron(tm) 3600+, x64 Family 15 Model 76 Stepping 2
    Processor Count: 1
    RAM: 894 Mb
    Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M, 128 Mb
    Hard Drives: C: Total - 114470 MB, Free - 90486 MB;
    Motherboard: Wistron, 30D6
    Antivirus: None

    As far as I can tell I have updated all the drivers (I did an OS reinstall yesterday), though the CD/DVD is missing from the device manager, as indicated in the attached screen shot. When I insert a CD, the drive responds (I can hear it), but there is no prompt to view the files. Also, Start -> Computer shows only the C drive.

    What needs to be done?

    Thanks so much.
