My CD player won't eject. I can hear the motor running when I press the eject button. Does it need to be replaced?

Well I have seen 2 types of tray mechanisms one is fully gear related and if thats the case you can see if any have slipped at all sometimes you just have to move the gear a little back into place. The other is band driven. In this case sometimes the bands pop out and other times they break. If it broken you need a close match to fix it if it popped off it can be replaced.

It may be fixable but with the cost of CD/DVD drives its probably more cost effective to buy a new one.
