Does anyone know anything about Mitsumi on their drives? From what I have seen they look pretty good but wanted an opinion for others if possible. Looking at their 54x drive CD ROM Only not the CDRW. Thanks!

Mitsumi is a standard in CD-Rom techology.

I'd have no probs considering one of these, if I wanted to buy a CD-Rom.

Of course, why buy just a Cd-Rom these days, and not a DVD or CD-Writer? I can understand not wanting to go to the expense of a DVD Writer, but the others are reasonably priced these days.

Thanks on the reply RandyG. I already have a CD writer, What I am doing is replacing the older plain CD ROM dirve in my computer. Everything else was replaced when I put this computer together except that. I really didn't think I needed a DVD ROM since I never play DVD's on the computer. I Have a multi disc changer for that. I suppose it might be wise to consider though with the changes in gaming?

I see very little utility in having two CD devices in a machine, why bother to replace it at all?

Good point! I wasn't used to copying disc's to the hard drive before burning them before so I hadn't even thought of that. Of course I should have. Thanks!
