Help please...my CD Rom failed to work all of a sudden. I do not know what the computer was being used for at the time. Now the CD rom does not recognize when a disk is inserted. I try to find a program on the CD rom and the error message says "No disc installed". What can I do? Thanks

Hi Aaron – welcome to the board.

For starters: right click My Computer>Properties>Device manager. Double left click on the CDROM heading and highlight your CD-ROM drive. Go to the bottom of the box and select “Remove” OK and exit device manager. Reboot. Windows will install new drivers for the drive.

After deleting the cd rom driver and rebooting I still have an error reading the drive. It says "D:/ is not accessible. The device is not ready." What do I do now? Thanks for your help!
