cd rom won't play music

    Hi, my cd rom does everything except play music cds. I can install programs ,games with music background but when I put a music cd in the drive I get the message "the disc you are trying to play is not inserted in the cd drive"
    Anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

    Some of the latest music cds have a copy protection that prevent them being used in computer cd players but work in stand alone players.

    Try some other music discs and if they play then that's your answer.

    Hi --I tried other cds ,same result . In the past I have played and copied cds from this cd rom without any trouble.

    To play an Audio CD, a wire from the CD drive needs to be directly connected to the right place on the mother board. Is it connected properly?
