When I put any cd into my drive the drive will spin and then stop. I'm running XP. This drive, by the way, is only 6 months old, and worked normally until a month ago. When I try to explore the cd is says "put a cd into drive E:". If I Boot my system with a bootable cd in the drive, it will boot to the cd. If I play a game that requires a cd to be in the drive, it will recognize the cd once it is in the drive. I have run Norton anti-virus on the system. I have run a cleaning cd in the drive. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. I have tried disconnecting the drive, booting the system, shutting it down, reconnecting the drive and rebooting. I have tried anything and everything I have been able to find on the net to no avail. I have run out of ideas. Help anyone? Thanks.
