Cd-RW HELP

I have a Atapti W-Drive an its speeds are 48x16x48, but my comp only recignizes it as 48x16x as in 48 read and 16 write, it dont see the RW
Any help would help very much...thanx

Win xp servies pack 2
Pentium 4 2.4b ghz
768 meg DDR Ram
Geforce FX 5200 128 meg
onboard audio
RW drive-the 1 in qustion
Dvd rom drive
40 gig hard

What CD burning software are you using? Here's a couple of free packages to try:

CDburnerXP

FYI, 48x16x48 means 48x write, 16x rewrite, 48x read. If you use RW discs you will be limited to 16x.

I run nero 5 but even in device manager it specs that its only 48x16x, i also have tryed changing burn software but it doesnt help

Buy a new drive. That one is old and slow anyway.

That's real useful advice. There's nothing wrong with the spec's of the drive, perhaps we should just try to help him get it running.

turn your pc off, then unplug it

then disconnext the ide cable to the drive then plug the pc back in then startup

then shut down again, then unplug, then reconnect the ide cable

and see if it helps
