cdroms

    so theres 2 cdroms and 1 works fine like i put any cd in and it reads it fine

    but then the other one i put a audio cd in and it works but when i put a data cd in it says insert disk

    whas wrong with the cdrom :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

    1. When did the problem begin?

    2. Did the problem CD Drive ever read data disks?

    3. Have you tried multiple data disks? The problem may be that the disk cannot be read by your computer [ XP SP2 ].

    4. What happens if you put the data disk in the other drive?

    well i formatted the computer and it just happened

    it read it before ya

    i did i put in windows xp, office, myob

    i put it in the other drive and it works

    Check the drive manufacturer's website for drivers.

    its alrite i threw it away and got some new ones

    this worked for me a few months ago. right click on "my computer " ,click on properities.click on device manger, double click on cdrom , right click on the opened cdrom and click on remove. just restart the computer and let the harware wizard reinstall your drive.
