ok, may seem like a dumb question, but i'm wanting to know if i need a fan for my celeron 300A mhz cpu. i know it needs the heat sink.
also, i know that most fans have specific cpus that they are made for, but if i have a fan that is overqualified for the job, (say an intel p3 fan for a 300mhz celeron), can i use it? it's the same type socket, so it fits on the mobo.
and, if i don't need a fan, can i use the heatsink from the fan with it?

You don't need the the fan for 300- 450 and under , however It won't hurt to use one, so if it fits (no Capcitors or voltage regulators in the way) then use it.
