Hey. I made the mistake of telling my friend I'd fix his computer. It's been a lot of work.

So far I've replaced the horrid spinning HDD with an SDD, and installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 onto it. This is a Sony Vaio from 2010 with a Core i5 M 480, and 6GB ram. Under seemingly light load this thing heats up to 86 C.... But I digress.

MAIN ISSUE: Anyway, using Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, certain random websites consistently will never load. For example, Google Play Store, Amazon.com and Microsoft websites don't load. Google search, Youtube and Facebook do.

Other computers on my home wifi network connect fine to these sites. I tried using a VPN to test, but none of the VPN servers I tried could connect (Hola and SetupVPN).

My issue is very similar to this person's: https://forums.techguy.org/threads/certain-websites-wont-load.1185137/

I tried doing the 3 console command fixes (e.g., "netsh winsock reset catalog"), those didn't work. Can I post my ipconfig/all results here or?

If your CPU is overheating to 86 degrees then the computer simply will not work right, you need to address that and your browsing/internet issues may go away with that.

Also when running the above commands you must right click and run CMD as Administrator.
