change com port

    i have a us robotics 5610a modem. my software installed it to com port 5. my linux distro only recognizes com 1 thru 4. us robotics does have dos box support. how can i communicate to the modem by directing my software to com 4 via dos.

    Does that modem have a Linux driver? Some modems are not supported in Linux.

    i know this modem has a linux driver. i was told that i must change to com 4 under dos. not an undaunting task for one who has never attempted anything like that before. not really a dos kinda guy as i am tryin to learn as much as i can though and i am adventurous. mcnutt
