I have a friend who thought deleting some stuff from the windows folder was a good idea. So now the computer wont boot in any mode. A windows repair also just hangs on 'Saving Configuration'. I would like to just back up the data and do a full reinstall of Windows. But when I connect it to anther computer and go into the drive to copy the data, im getting access denied errors. It wont let me go into the user accounts data. I tried on a W7 machine as well as XP.

Any way to change permissions on this data to access it?
