    Hi

Is there a way that I can change the colour of the typeset (ie print) underneath each of my desktop icons.

At the moment every icon has a blue blob of colour with white print indicating what programme it relates to (I.E/Winzip/O/E etc.

Can I change the block of colour and the print colour.?

    Thanks

Yes, you can. These 2 programs work with Win98. I am unsure of other OS's. They are worth checking out.

    Iconoid from:
    www.sillysot.com

    No spyware on either program.

    Transtext from:
    www.chaossoft.com

    Hope this helps.

I am running XP. Is there not a way within the XP system that you can change these things. I'm sure I changed them before but can't remember how.

    Thanks

To make the icon labels transparent go to control panel>System>Advanced Tab
    Performance>Settings>visual Effects Tab
Click on the custom radio button

    Uncheck the box labeled:
Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop

    Try this:-
Right click your Desktop, click "Properties", go to the "Desktop" tab, click "Customize Desktop", then the "Web" tab and untick "Lock Desktop items". Ive found having this ticked makes the text lose transparency.
