    Hey all,

Can I change what icon of a program that I downloaded? I have FSChat Scroll fix program for the MS Flight Sim 2002 and it has a generic icon, I want to put one on there that looks like a microphone or something.

    Thanks,
    PaveFE

    of course you can.
i always start a folder of my own, named "icons" and keep it at:

    c:\\windows\icons

just cuz that's where other similar stuff is (ie: media, cursors, fonts, etc) and it's easy for me to remember. you can put it wherever you'll remember best.

use it to place icons you really like a lot. and to start off, put the icons that you want to use for your new program there. copy them out of other program's files or wherever you're getting them from.

    go to your desktop
r/click the shortcut of the program you want to change
    choose properties
on the "shortcut" tab, find "change icon" at the bottom
    click it
browse to the location of your new icon
when you get to your new icon, click on the icon and choose "open"
you'll see the icon you chose in a new window, highlight it and choose "ok"
click "ok" on all the open windows you have and check out your new icon on your desktop shortcut!

btw, i have a folder of about 1000 icons, because i just love customizing my desktop. i even go so far as to have themes. :) like i'm currently on a "fruit" kick. "strawberry" opens my browser, "banana" opens my chat program, "orange" is "My Computer", etc.

    :)

if you want some url's for nice custom made icons, just ask.

    Hey Thanks V.

I feel like an idiot in that I didn't see that. I should've known better. Oh well, live and learn.

    Thanks again
