I recently changed the name of windows ID from Control Panel -> Users, but only the Start menu reflects that change.

My system folders, Task Manager etc. still shows my old name. Is there a way to completely remove my old name, short of a reformat?

IT seems that you are trying to change the actual user id and not the registered owner.

As you see, simply changing the displayed name does not change the underlying user id.

You would need to create a new user account for that. Now you can log is as administratory and copy your exisiting account to a new one. But I'm not aware of a way to simply change the old one.
