When I open XP check disc try's to run . Have 10 seconds to stop it by hitting ANY key.
I have done this several times and no matter which key I bang on it keeps loading. DO you know a key combo to stop it?

Are you saying that every time you start your pc - it loads to the blue scan disk screen?
The only solution that I know is as follows.

Boot from the Xp install Cd...when prompted press [R]
Choose Windows installation [typically by pressing [1]
    When prompted for password.
    Press Enter.
    Then type
    chkntfs /x c:
    Press Enter.

Note space before the /x and before c:
C: being the drive letter that Xp is installed on. If a different drive letter, change it from C.
This should clear the dirty bits on the drive and allow a normal boot.
It has to be the full Xp install Cd - a not an OEM Cd [original equipment manufacturer]
