I received a check desk on start-up a couple of days ago. I completed the scan and my system (windows 7 profession) started up, but very slowly. I ran MSOffice applications after start-up, and the windows installer box popped up and said it was installing the application.
The above process has happened twice since then, and this morning I skipped the check disk process but still had the windows installer box pop up. I'm not sure where to start working out what the problem is. Any help greatly appreciated!

There were quite a few updates for Office.
Check your Windows update history (Control Panel, Windows Update) and see if the Office updates have been installed in the last few days. Perhaps it is still reconfiguring those.
